Install Veeam Backup & Replication 71. July 20131. July 2013Gert Kjerslev
This is a quick look at the Veaam B&R version 7 installation. The installation is very similar to the 6.x version.
First choose what to install
Next, if you do not have the .NET Framework version 4.0 the installer will help you with this.
Then click next to the Welcome message.
And accept the EULA and click next
Next point out you lic file and click next
Select the features you want and click next
The installer will check you’re system and report if any components are missing, if so click install.
And when the installer is finished and all is good click next
Now you will have to choose a service account. Type in the user name and password of the service account and click next.
You can now choose where the database should go, in my lab I have installed it on my vCenter server. For production I would not recommend this, also I would use a “real” MS SQL server. But for this its okay with the express version. Click next
Next type in the ports veeam will use. I’ll leave the with the defaults and click next.
Next select the folders for vPower NFS and guest files system catalog. This should be on a different drive the c: but for the guide I will go with the defaults.
Now you are ready to install Veeam 7 click install and wait for the installer to finish.
I will soon do a post on some of the new features in Veaam B&R version 7. Thanks for reading this post, if you have any comments leave them below.
