Distinguish between virtualization, automation and cloud computing.

Comming to this one later…

Distinguish between private, public, hybrid and community cloud computing.

The following are the commonly accepted definitions for the deployment models for cloud computing. • Private Cloud – The cloud infrastructure is operated solely for an organization and may be managed by the organization or a third party. The cloud infrastructure may be on-premise or off-premise. • Public Cloud – The cloud infrastructure is made available to the general public or to a large industry group and is owned by an organization that sells cloud services. • Hybrid Cloud – The cloud infrastructure is a composition of two or more clouds (private and public) that remain unique entities, but are bound together by standardized technology. This enables data and application portability; for example, cloud bursting for load balancing between clouds. With a hybrid cloud, an organization gets the best of both worlds, gaining the ability to burst into the public cloud when needed while maintaining critical assets on-premise. • Community Cloud – The cloud infrastructure is shared by several organizations and supports a specific community that has shared concerns (for example, mission, security requirements, policy, and compliance considerations). It may be managed by the organizations or a third party, and may exist on-premise or off-premise. The deployment model for the service definition in this document is for an enterprise IT organization as a provider of services to the consumers of enterprise vCloud services—an enterprise private vCloud. The service definition also covers enterprise IT as a user or consumer of public vCloud services in order to extend its own private capacity—an enterprise hybrid vCloud.

Analyze a customer use case to determine how cloud computing can satisfy customer requirements.

The VMware vCloud Implementation Example is at great technical white paper on how a busniess can benefit from cloud computing. The white paper can be found in the vCAT as well.

Given a customer use case, determine the appropriate cloud computing model.

Knowing the 4 cloud computing models, private, public, hybrid and community is key here and choosing the right one(s) for the job.
